The Borghese Gallery is the queen of all private collections, one of the most beautiful museums in Italy.

In the XVII century, Cardinal Scipione Borghese modeled after the villas of classical Rome, using it as a museum for the display of his remarkable collection. It houses classical statuary, Roman mosaics, Bernini's spectacular statues including Apollo and Daphne, Pluto and Persephone and the David, masterpieces by Caravaggio such us Sick Bacchus and Boy with a basket of fruit, Raphael's Deposition of Christ, Correggio, Titian's Sacred and Profane Love, Antonio Canova's Paolina Borghese, Domenichino and Rubens, among others.

Discover the park surrounding the villa, 3 square mile of gardens, the 'Central Park' of Rome. The Borghese gardens once housed the country estates of wealthy Romans, but have since been turned into public parks filled with elegant architecture and fine museums.
